You may Own it, but are you Possessing it?

³⁰ Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once and possess it; we are well able to conquer it.

We often use the terms Ownership and Possession interchangeably, but they really have two different meanings.  I'll begin by defining both of these terms.

Ownership:  Legal right of possession; proprietorship.

Possession:  The actual holding or occupancy, either with or without rights of ownership.

We know from the word of God in Jeremiah 29:11, that God has a plan for us.  It states,

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." 

Recall that part of God's plan for us was first spoken to our forefather Abraham.  We are his seed and the same inheritance and promises  (God's plan) made to him, were also to the children of Israel and are ours today.  Yes, there is a promised land that God has for us.  And you know what?  You are already the Owner.  The question is, are you in Possession of it?

Are you walking in the destiny God has for you.  Are you experiencing the "milk and honey" of your promised land?  Have you even laid eyes on your promised land? If not, why not?

Lets look further at the children of Israel; their ownership of the Promised Land was unconditional.  It was God's gift to them through the promise of God to Abraham.  However, their possession of the land was conditional, upon faith and obedience to God.

Why, because someone else had taken up residence in their promised land, they would have to FIGHT in order to take Possession, and the only way to certain Victory, was through following the direction and plans of the God who gave them the land in the first place.  In Numbers 13:32-33 we get a description of those inhabitants.

"And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight."  

That's right.  These Giants had Possession of this land, even though they were not the owners. 

Understand; taking Possession is often through conflict, and just as the children of Israel had to fight, we must also fight our own "ittes"  (Perrizuites, Jebusities, canaanites, amorites, hivites and hittites) in order to take Possession of what we already Own. Remember, the only way that Victory is guaranteed, is if we follow the plan that God's has for us. Even when we can't quite understand how or why certain things are happening, we must have Faith knowing that God's grace is here to strengthen us and to help us endure every challenge.  We must know that He has already declared us Victorious through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 

Great Faith produces Great Blessings.  So I charge you again Men and Women of God.  Move forward with Faith and Obedience, and with a focus on taking Possession of your Destiny - all for the Glory of God and His Kingdom.

Loose Ends

2 Corinthians 8:10-11
The Message (MSG)



10-11  So here's what I think: The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale. Your heart's been in the right place all along. You've got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it. Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can, not what you can't. The heart regulates the hands.

We often think of November and December as the time to tie up loose ends, before we enter the new year. However, we are well aware that there are various seasons of our lives, and I believe it is just as important to designate a time for tying up the loose ends as we transition from one season to another.  Graduation season is upon us, and while you may not be experiencing a graduation in the natural, perhaps you are at the point of a spiritual graduation, in other words, transitioning into a new season of your life.

If this is you, I encourage you to take some time over the next 30 days to tie up the Loose Ends.  What are Loose Ends?  Loose ends are those tasks or projects you started on, but for no apparent reason, other than procrastination, have not completed.  Loose ends may be personal, such as home organization tasks or personal finance tasks, or it may also involve items that are related to your career, business, or ministry.   Loose ends are not necessarily time consuming tasks, thus we find them easy to overlook.  However, when we don't address them, they can grow into some larger task or issue, which will require much more to complete.  Loose ends may be something that we simply do not want to address, because we are unsure how, or because we fear the outcome of "opening a can of worms" we have conveniently put on a shelf, out of sight, out of mind.

My goal this week, and my challenge to each of you as well, is to identify the "Loose Ends" in your life, and then further, make it a priority to address those that you can honestly do something about.  There is a joy in completing something, and I do not believe that God has need of a people who continually start things, but never finish them.  So here we go!  Here is the process for addressing your LOOSE ENDS!

1.  Make a list of those loose ends.


2.  Prioritize the list, considering urgency (what may have a negative consequence if left undone) and resources (which of these can I tackle quickly because I have the resources to address them.)


3.  Estimate a reasonable time frame for completing each task, and record that information next to the task on the list.


4.  Now, start at the top of your list.  Ask for help if necessary.  Help may be someone to physically assist you with the task, or it may simply be someone who you can share you goal with and have him or her hold you accountable to complete it.


5.  Stay focused.  Don't attempt too much at once, focus on finishing one task before moving on to the next.


6.  Celebrate Completion, with whatever Celebration is to you.

MOVE FORWARD!!!

Philippians 3:12-14  The Message (MSG)  I'm not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me.Friends, don't get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I've got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I'm off and running and I'm not turning back.


Greetings people of God. MOVE FORWARD! MOVE FORWARD! MOVE FORWARD!

It is easy to look back, to wish for times in the past, and often people in our past.  But if we are not careful, we can end up reliving our past. Understand - there is no way we can move into our future, looking backward. Our footsteps will naturally follow the line of sight we set with our eyes. Look FORWARD people of God.  We ought to always be moving, always growing, going through, never getting stuck!.  


Satan’s desire is to have us stagnant, to have us so weighted down by cares of the world and its adversities (unfortunate events or incidents) that we become immobile.   Don’t fall for it.  We’ve come too far to turn back.  God has been Faithful all this time...and He has not changed.

Can we purpose ourselves this week to focus on our future, to be reminded of God’s promises to us? I believe if we look around this week, He will provide some very present reminders of how He has not forgotten us. Let’s do it, let’s re-activate our FAITH.  Let’s do like our great forefather Abraham.  I leave you with what the Word of God testifies of him.  Blessings!

We call Abraham "father" not because he got God's attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody. Isn't that what we've always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham,"I set you up as father of many peoples"? Abraham was first named"father" and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life, with a word make something out of nothing. When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn't do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples…

Consistency is the Key!

Galatians6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap,
if we faint not.

There is a Blessing in being consistent. Often we work and move at
extremes. You know, either all, or nothing. On this journey, we cannot
allow weariness, busyness, or disappointments to cause us to bring a
halt to what God has destined for our lives. Even when we cannot run at
our usual 100%, consistency means that are still making even one small
step daily toward our goal.

This week, whether your money is short, your time is short, or your
energy is short... press your way to spend some measure of time with
God, and some measure of time working on that dream in your heart.
Every little step you take makes a difference, it is a seed your are
sowing - plant it - and then ask God to multiply and add the increase.

Be encouraged Saints!

No Access!

I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me Philippians 4:13

Paul was imprisoned when he wrote this letter to the church at Philippi. It is interesting, that he wrote to encourage them, for he was the one who was in chains! We all know that Paul faced many, many hardships, however - he was determined that no hardship would rob him of his Joy, and that he would surely finish the race God had for him to run. That Joy, was the Joy of his salvation by Jesus Christ, the Joy of the Gospel. That Joy, he held way deep down on the inside, where the enemy - through various situations and circumstances - could have NO ACCESS to it, and thus, to him.


The word for this week is very simple. We will experience hard times, challenges, setbacks, and disappointments along our journey. We will at times wonder if we are headed in the right direction, because the road we are on is so rough, and there are so many roadblocks. BUT GOD. His promise to us, as it was to Joshua, in Joshua 1:5 is this... No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you.


God is not a man, that He should lie. He will do what He said He would do. And you, you can make it. Regardless of what you may be experiencing at this time, give the enemy NO ACCESS to your Joy! Regardless of how difficult things may seem at the moment, know that you can do it, for YOU can do all things through Christ who strengthens you! Now. Lets keep it moving people of God. There is work for us to do. AMEN.

Opportunity and Opposition

James 1:2-4  The Message (MSG)
2-4 Consider it a sheer gift, friends, when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.

In the pursuit of any goal, we must recognize opportunities and withstand opposition.  There are roads that we travel in the pursuit of a goal that are not pleasant, but we recognize they are necessary paths on our journey – and that we must walk them out.  These opportunities are often masked by the lenses of our own experiences and then met with thoughts of, “I don’t’ want to go through all that" or "it does not take all that,” or even the  “Not again, you mean I have to go through that again?”

Opposition is part of the process, and there are just some things we must go through for the purpose of strengthening and equipping us to stand under the weight of our Destiny!  Blessings come with persecution, and there is no conquest, without conflict.  We have to leave the mindset behind that leads us to believe that if we have to fight for it, it is not meant to be.  That is often far from the truth.

Yes, we must fight; and interestingly enough, our battle is often an internal one, fighting with our own feelings, beliefs, insecurities, fears, and remnants of our past that we have not yet released.

This week,I encourage each of you to stand strong in the midst of opposition and trials, for your Blessing is on the other side of “through!”

Your perception is your reality...

Do you ever feel like you're being twisted and turned, “every which way but loose?” You know your areas of weakness, those “buttons” if you will; and so does the enemy. Do you ever feel like he is just leaning on your button? We all do at times, and yes, we have a real enemy, who is never ever pleased with our progress. In fact, we know when we are breaking through to new levels, this is a prime opportunity for the enemy to turn up the heat.

However, we should not forget that the mind is the real battleground, and so the issue is not what happened, but how we perceive or think about what happened - what we THINK about a thing then determines how we react and how we react then determines the impact on our lives.

Listen. The devil is a LIAR. He will always seek to make you feel hopeless, stressed, anxious, and afraid. He is not the giver of life, but the bearer of death. If on today, you find yourself engaged with the enemy of our souls, and in your weariness you are on the border of self-pity, doubt and defeat…May God EMPOWER YOU by His Holy Spirit and enable you this very moment to...


1. Stand Up. Gather yourself. Get ready to move higher!
Habakkuk 3:17-19 "Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer and enables me to go on the heights."

2. Find the truth about your situation in the word of God, then read it aloud so that you can hear it. Romans 10:17 Amplified Bible (AMP) "So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself)."

3. Remember that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Isaiah 54:17 New Living Translation (©2007) "But in that coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the LORD; their vindication will come from me. I, the LORD, have spoken!"

4. Know that when the enemy comes in like a flood the Lord will raise up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19 Amplified Bible (AMP) "So [as the result of the Messiah's intervention] they shall [reverently] fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him and put him to flight [for He will come like a rushing stream which the breath of the Lord drives]." Remember, the Spirit of the Lord resides in you. You have what it takes on the inside of you to stand against the enemy and cause him to flee. GLORY!

5. Gather your thoughts. Don’t let them run rampant.
2 Corinthians 10:5-6 ESV "We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete."


Now… receive the Peace of God, and go on about your day! AMEN
